BLACKSBURG V.A. – The Atlantic Coastal Conference Hockey League announced on Thursday that former Virginia Tech forward Stephen Gerke has been named to the ACCHL Hall of Fame Class of 2024.'
Gerke joins a prestigious men’s division II class along with six other former players from around the league. In his four seasons in Blacksburg (2016-2020), Gerke was named ACCHL All-American Second Team in 2019 as well served as the Assistant Captain of the 2019 ACCHL All-Star Team.
The Alexandria, Virginia native finished his career ranked near the top in all offensive categories, including a team record five career hat-tricks, 4 of which occurred in the 2017-18 season when his line amassed a total of 139 points, also a team record. Gerke currently ranks ninth all-time in program history with 105 career points.
The former Hokie is the fifth player in Virginia Tech Club Hockey history to be inducted into the ACCHL Hall of Fame, as he joins Jon Allen (2014), Jimmy Pope (2014), Mike Spradlin (2017), and Henrik Pettersson (2018) as the only others to be bestowed upon the honor.
