BLACKSBURG V.A. – This week, Virginia Tech forwards Gavin Peduzzi and Kameron Khazai were selected as members of the 2024 ACCHL Premier All-American teams. Peduzzi earned second-team honors, while Khazai was named on the rookie team.
In his third season with the Hokies, junior Gavin Peduzzi capped off a historic season, scoring 45 points (13 goals, 32 assists) in 24 games played. During the 2023 fall semester, Peduzzi eclipsed the 100 career-point mark, becoming the fastest Hokie in program history to do so in 62 games. Moreover, Peduzzi also became the fifth player in Virginia Tech Men’s Ice Hockey history to become a member of the 50-goal/100-point club, marking the fastest to get there as well. The 2021-22 ACCHL Rookie of the Year has been nothing but productive on the ice since arriving at Virginia Tech as he is currently on pace to break the Hokies’ All-Time leading scorer mark (26 points shy) by next season.
Kam Khazai is coming off a phenomenal rookie campaign for the Hokies in which he was named 2023-24 ACCHL Premier Rookie of the Year. The freshman from McLean Virginia encapsulated 43 points, including a team-leading 21 goals on the year, sparking the Hokie’s offense in key games this season. Furthermore, Khazai finished top-10 in points among all ACHA D2 rookies and was tied with teammate Gavin Peduzzi with a club-leading 11 multi-point games this season. The linemate pairing of Khazai and Peduzzi will have at least two more seasons on the ice, an exciting tandem for the future of the Virginia Tech program.
Congrats to both Peduzzi and Khazai on their accomplishments this season!
